Changes Hair Studio opened in 2007 and proudly serves the people of Baldwin County and the surrounding areas. When you walk through the door of Changes, you can expect a relaxing and inviting salon atmosphere that is family friendly. We believe your hair is part of what makes you the person you are. That is why we pride ourselves on customizing the latest trends in hair design and color services to suit your image. We work hard to listen to your requests and make sure you walk out of our salon with exactly what you came in for.

MEET THE OWNERS

Owners Kayla Bubalo and Jami Gentry both bring a passion and love for hair. They met in high school, attended cosmetology school together, and both began working at Changes Hair Studio shortly after.

They love the community they call home and wanted to be a bigger part of that. This was a big reason that prompted them to purchase Changes Hair Studio in early 2024 from founder, Sandra Hasting. Jami is also the daughter of Sandra, and it was important for her to carry on her family’s legacy.

With more than 15 years of friendship, Kayla and Jami feel their partnership will continue to benefit the salon. “I honestly wouldn’t want a salon without her. We are yin and yang – very opposite of each other in all the right ways. I trust and respect her and believe in our partnership,” says Kayla. Jami agrees by adding, “I think we are both the calm to each other’s storm and a wonderful balancing act.”

A family friendly salon atmosphere has always been a core value of Changes Hair Studio and both Kayla and Jami believe that is essential to preserve. “I believe in upholding my mother’s visions and values for the salon she created but at the same time putting mine and Kayla’s own spin on it,” mentions Jami.

OUR STYLISTS

Our team of talented stylists is comprised of friendly and professional individuals that are passionate about what they do.

Kayla has been a dedicated Hairstylist since 2012. She strives to stay on top of the latest trends and cutting techniques. Kayla enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Jami Gentry was raised in the beauty industry and began her career in 2012. She is a precision haircutter who loves clean lines and classic shapes. She loves to create rich, dramatic looks to suit her client’s personalities. Jami loves spending time with her husband and daughter.

Sandra has been in the beauty industry since 1981. She opened Changes Hair Studio in 2007 and retired from owner in 2023. Sandra continues her career as a Hairstylist and is committed to serving the Baldwin County area with integrity and skill. When Sandra is not working behind the chair, she enjoys spending time at the beach with her family.

Kayla has been with Changes since 2019. She is a master colorist and specializes in high lift blondes. Kayla loves spending time with family and friends and her Jack Russel Terrier named Ollie. She also enjoys going to the beach and cruising.

Lorie has been with Changes since 2019. She moved here from Atlanta where she owned her own salon for 10 years. She has 25 years of experience doing hair and she is specialized in bridal up-do’s. Lorie enjoys the beach, friends and family visits, eating great food and shares her faith making scripture booklets from the Bible.

Marian is a veteran of the industry and previously owned her own salon in Illinois, her home state. She is skilled in all hairstyling but has a special passion for short hair. Marian loves landscaping, decorating, and spending time with her grandsons.

Jess is a talented colorist with an eye for dramatic transformations. She is a master stylist when it comes to men’s haircuts – her fades and customized styling are second to none. Jess looks forward to taking fun vacations and making memories with her daughter.

Abbie has been a licensed Hairstylist since 2015. She takes pride in completing thorough consultations and listening to each client’s needs. Abbie enjoys time on the beach and exploring new places with her boyfriend and dog Rufus.

Lindsay has been a licensed Hairstylist since 2002. She has a passion to make each client feel their best. Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family.

Karla has been in the industry for decades and has traveled all over the country. She brings that knowledge to her clients and coworkers. Karla loves NASCAR, spending time with her friends and coming home to her sweet pets!

From the time I called them to the time I walked into the door I was always welcomed with open arms and a warm embrace.
